1) How would you describe your first academic year at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø?
My first year at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø was full of surprises! This was my first experience at a university, and I truly enjoyed my time here. My professors were so helpful, and the people I met were awesome as well.
2) What challenges, if any, did you face as a transfer student, and how did 51³Ô¹ÏÍø help you to overcome those challenges?
The challenge I experienced as a transfer student was not being aware of the fun activities students could be involved in. I missed quite a few of them by simply not knowing where to get the information or an event calendar.
3) Please describe your experience with 51³Ô¹ÏÍø classes and/or tutoring in an online, hybrid, or converged learning format?
I had a good experience overall through all of my classes. I was able to adapt quickly even though I came from OCC. It did not feel like a shock, and everything was easy to follow. My professors were helpful and, most importantly, my friends! As they were my tutors whenever I needed one.
4) What are your plans after graduation?
After I graduated from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, I joined the Technology Development Program at J&J! I am so thrilled that 51³Ô¹ÏÍø shaped me as a young professional, and now I am where I’m supposed to be.
5) What advice would you give to a prospective transfer student?
To make the best out of it! 51³Ô¹ÏÍø offers great opportunities! You just have to go find them. I love 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and I am so glad I picked it for my higher education.
6) What is a major difference between 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and the previous school you transferred from?
The classes were much larger here at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, and the professors were not always available. Since they cover many more sections, but they can rely on the TA to help out students, which in some cases made it easier for us to connect with TA.
7) What are the three things you like best about 51³Ô¹ÏÍø?
Campus – I love that all the buildings are within walking distance.
Friendliness – I love how friendly everyone was and the friendships you can make here.
Lab experiences – I love that students are able to get experience from labs and do their own research!
