The CWNS complements other communication channels such as broadcast emails, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø website, postings across campus, and local media.  It's used only for situations such as delayed opening or closings caused by weather, or potential, imminent threats to the safety of the university community.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø students, faculty and staff can opt to participate in the system by providing phone numbers and email addresses to which the CWNS can send text messages, voicemail and email.

All contact info in the CWNS is confidential and will not be shared with other 51³Ô¹ÏÍø offices or third-parties, except when responding to an emergency.
