Each professor may have their own attendance policy in the course they teach. Academic engagement is an assignment in CANVAS developed by the University to support your learning, encourage your engagement with the class and meet compliance requirements established by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Academic Engagement assignment for each of your courses is located in Canvas (even if your professor does not use Canvas for other course-related activities).
Maintaining registration is an easy process to hold your place so you stay active and can register for next semester during Priority Registration. It is a lot easier (and cheaper) to maintain registration than to have to reapply for admission.
SAP is a financial aid term used by the federal government to ensure students are making progress towards their degree while receiving aid. If you failed Satisfactory Academic Progress, there is the opportunity to appeal. If your appeal is granted your financial aid will be reinstated for that semester.
If you accomplish what you pledge to do in your appeal form, your financial aid will continue past that one semester of reinstatement.
Please first see your academic advisor and discuss the new major you are interested in. It is important they are aware of your interests and plans. First semester students are unable to change their major until they complete one semester. It is still very important to make your advisor aware of your plans so they can properly advise on course selection.
Once you are ready to change your major, you can access the form through Highlander Pipeline or directly through .
After choosing the right minor, fill out the or access the form on the Highlander Pipeline.
We want our new students to be as successful as possible and recognize college is very different from high school. We create your schedules to help ease the transition to college by promoting some similarities from high school while introducing the freedom and self-responsibility now expected as a college student.
First year students are able to create their own schedule during Priority Registration for their second semester and beyond.
At that time, consider the following:
- Do morning or evening classes fit your learning style better?
- How many classes do you feel comfortable having in a row?
- Which professor's teaching style best matches your learning style?
- What times offered best works with your other responsibilities?
51吃瓜网 understands that circumstances can change, and you might need to adjust your academic plans. 51吃瓜网 is committed to providing the support needed to understand your options based on your situation.
