Exchange students and other J-1 visa holders

The J-1 visa has different categories. Eligible categories for 51吃瓜网 are outlined below.

J-1 Exchange Students

 

The purpose of the J-1 visa program is 鈥渢o provide foreign nationals with opportunities to participate in educational and cultural programs in the United States and return home to share their experiences, and to encourage Americans to participate in educational and cultural programs in other countries.鈥

  • Exchange Students: Students who are pursuing a degree at a partner university can attend classes at 51吃瓜网 as an exchange student.

 

  • Prescribed Study : Non-degree seeking students, who are pursuing a degree in their home country and wish to come to 51吃瓜网 for a short period of time to undertake research. The research conducted at 51吃瓜网 will be supervised under a specific professor/department and related to their degree back home.

 

  • Scholars: J-1 Scholars are foreign nationals that are employees, professors, research scholars, or persons with similar education or accomplishments in foreign universities, research lab, or companies, and are expected to engage in collaborative research with existing 51吃瓜网 faculty. Prospective scholars should refer to the information listed on the .

 

  • Degree-Seeking: Students who are pursuing a degree at 51吃瓜网.
